During a thermal flight, you are in the air for up to 1 hour longer than during a panoramic flight (approx. 15-20 min.). Paraglider pilots use the rising air to gain altitude. In the updraft, the paraglider pilot flies circles until he reaches the desired altitude or, if he wishes, all the way up to the clouds. Thermal flight is the right thing for adventurous people.

Is paragliding dangerous?2024-04-05T14:19:33+02:00

The paraglider has developed into a safe flying device in the last decades. For paragliding tandem flights are used only simple and therefore very safe gliders. These offer everyone, in the hands of responsible and experienced pilots, the unique opportunity to fly. A certain residual risk cannot be prevented, as in all sports, most injuries (sprain, bruise) happen during the take-off run.

Many pilots are afraid of heights, the feeling that when they look down from a tower or cliff edge they are drawn down. With the paraglider this fear is gone, as soon as you lose contact with the ground the fear of falling disappears and you can enjoy the flight.

How young do I have to be?2024-04-05T14:23:24+02:00

There is no legal age limit for passengers. We fly with our little guests from a weight of 20 kg, for children and adolescents up to 18 years the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on the flight ticket. Many of our guests are under the age of 18, our youngest passenger was 5 years old and as you can see in our photo gallery it was fun for everyone.

Age doesn’t matter, as long as you’re fit and can take a few quick steps off-road, there’s nothing stopping you from tandem flying. The two oldest passengers who flew with fly4you were 78 and 82 years young and they would want to fly again immediately.

How long does a tandem flight last?2024-04-05T13:45:19+02:00

We start with the paraglider from the most beautiful Carinthian mountains and are therefore dependent on the weather, a gliding flight from the Gerlitze takes about 20 minutes. If the thermal conditions are good, our pilots will use the updraft to gain altitude and thus extend the flight to 30-40 minutes. 1.5 hours must be allowed for one pass (ascent, preparation, take-off, flight and landing).

How heavy can I be?2024-04-05T14:23:38+02:00

We fly with passengers from 20kg to 120kg.

How do you land with a tandem paraglider?2024-04-05T14:24:42+02:00

Your pilot will fly over the landing field in position to reduce the remaining altitude there, now he controls the paraglider in the downwind approach, base leg and finally in the final approach. In the final approach, the glider’s speed is slowed down so that you have to take a few quick steps, depending on the wind. The stronger the wind, the slower and smoother the landing.
